Dynamic DNS without the No-IP nag

Free DDNS for the homelab and self-hosting audience — no 30-day hostname-confirmation nag, multiple hostname domains to choose from, and bundled free monitoring no DDNS competitor offers.

What it does

A dynamic DNS service that doesn't nag you

Point a hostname on one of our domains at your home IP. Your router or DDNS client pushes updates over the standard DynDNS2 protocol — so ddclient, inadyn, and most ASUS / Netgear / DD-WRT / pfSense / OPNsense / Ubiquiti routers work out of the box.

No 30-day confirmation requirement. No surprise hostname deletion. Just dynamic DNS that works.

Every ClosetServer customer also gets free DDNS-specific monitoring powered by Watch4.me — presented through Isntdown status pages.

Why it exists

No-IP's nag is a real problem

Users in Netgear forums, Home Assistant issues, and r/selfhosted universally hate the 30-day confirmation loop. ClosetServer doesn't do that.

Hostname choice

Multiple owned domains

Pick a hostname on whichever of our DDNS domains fits your style. More domains added over time.

Bundled extra

Free monitoring on every hostname

Every ClosetServer customer gets Watch4.me-powered monitoring for their hostname — presented via Isntdown.

Role in the portfolio

Top of the monitoring funnel

ClosetServer is a free tier that does real work. It's also the top of our monitoring funnel: customers who arrive for no-nag DDNS experience Watch4.me-powered monitoring through Isntdown, and those who outgrow the bundled coverage step up to paid Watch4.me plans.

That makes ClosetServer a revenue line-item on its own (via optional premium features) and an acquisition channel for Watch4.me — two jobs from one free product.
